Eastbourne Borough 0-1 Dartford

Dartford beat Eastbourne Borough at Priory Lane on Tuesday night to move to within five points of leaders Woking and secure a play-off spot.

The home side made a decent start and threatened early on with long range efforts from Matt Smart and Charles Ademeno.

But the Darts eased their way into the game and almost took the lead when skipper Ollie Rowe misjudged a clearance which smacked against the post.

Dartford were awarded a penalty when Ben Austin handled in the box but Mitch Walker produced an excellent save to deny Adam Green.

On 42 minutes the visitors rattled the woodwork once more. Lee Noble delivered a corner and Luke Wilkinson’s header came back off the bar.

Just before the hour-mark the Darts took the lead with what was to prove to be the only goal of the game.

Matt Crabb gave away possession, Green delivered a near post cross and skipper Elliott Bradbrook nipped ahead of the defence to fire home at the near post.

The defeat leaves Boro still looking over their shoulders at the bottom end of the table, now being six points clear of the drop zone.
